Seeking a self-motivated Microbiology Technician who is committed to achieving the highest level of food safety and quality through efficient and accurate microbiology preparation and analysis. Great opportunity to work in a Micro Lab! Candidates with a HS Diploma and lab experience encouraged to apply. Will also consider AS Degree candidates and entry level BS Degree candidates who recently graduated!

What We Ask

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of microbiology/microbiological techniques
  • Lab instrumentation and computer software skills (Microsoft Office)
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to independently carry out detailed written and verbal instructions
Preferred but not required- Bachelor of Science in a microbiology/food related field of study

Vacancy Description

Reading of plates for determination of:
    • Standard Plate Count
    • Coliforms/ E. coli
    • Thermophiles
    • Yeasts and Molds
    • Includes any necessary follow-up work, gram stains, and identifications
Testing of finished product for the presence of:
  • Salmonella
  • Coagulase positive Staphylococcus aureus
  • Group D Streptococcus
  • Clostridium perfringens
  • Bacillus cereus / spores
  • Performs routine screening of diagnostic media products for pathogens
  • Enter data results into corporate business system (SAP)
  • Preparation of laboratory medias and reagents
  • Quality Control of prepared media
  • Maintenance/preservation of working and stock cultures
  • Performs routine preventative maintenance on balances and lab equipment
