Sourcing Must Haves

  • Industry background:

    • Mining experience required, specifically clay or ball clay operations

    • Knowledge of open-pit mining operations

  • Leadership:

    • High-energy, hands-on turnaround leader

    • Experience managing teams of 35-40 employees

    • Proven leadership and supervisory experience

  • Financial and Operational Acumen:

    • Full P&L responsibility for ~$17M revenue operation

    • Strong business and financial understanding to improve profitability

    • Experience with budgeting, cost control, and capital project management

  • Technical Skills:

    • Experience in clay minerals processing

    • Understanding of cost accounting and financial statements

    • SAP knowledge preferred

    • Ability to lead Lean/Six Sigma/Continuous Improvement initiatives

  • Education & Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Ceramic, Geology, Chemical, Mechanical, or related Engineering discipline preferred

    • 7-10+ years leadership experience in mining, heavy manufacturing, construction, or related industries

    • Preferred 10+ years leadership in industrial minerals/clay environment

  • Location:

    • Prefer candidates based in or willing to relocate to Southeastern U.S., especially rural/small-town settings (e.g., Murray, KY)

    • U.S.-based candidates only (no TN visa timelines)

Sourcing Nice to Haves

  • Master's degree in relevant field

  • Experience in related roles such as Maintenance Manager, Production Manager, Mine/Quarry Manager, Quality Manager

  • Previous SAP training experience

  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills

  • Familiarity with environmental and safety regulatory compliance

Location Requirements

  • Position located at Spinks Clay Plant, Southeast U.S.

  • Candidate must be willing to reside in rural or small-town environment

  • Local travel primarily between plant locations; occasional travel (~10-15%) to Brentwood

Compensation

  • Base salary up to $170,000

  • 20% target bonus

  • $900 car allowance
