Must-haves
- 5–12+ years’ experience within the steel industry or closely related commodity markets
- Job description indicates approximately 8–12+ years
- Deep knowledge of:
- Steel supply and demand
- Production and capacity
- Raw materials
- Pricing and trade flows
- End-use markets
- Strong understanding of global steel markets and the wider steel value chain
- Ability to translate complex market intelligence into commercial and strategic recommendations
- Experience engaging senior stakeholders and customers
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Commercial awareness; ability to identify opportunities, risks and customer implications
- Ability to work cross-functionally and influence without direct authority
- Analytical, commercially minded approach
Relevant backgrounds
- Steel producer, mill, trader, service centre or raw materials business
- Industrial organisation with significant commodity exposure
- Specialist steel market, intelligence, research or consultancy environment
Nice-to-haves
- Established network across the steel value chain and major industry participants
- Experience supporting senior customer discussions and strategic planning
- Experience representing a business at industry conferences or market events
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline
Location and other preferences
- Singapore-based, onsite role
- Global steel market remit; regional or international travel may be required
- Prioritise recognised steel or commodities subject-matter experts
- Not a traditional brand, communications or digital marketing profile
