Sourcing Must Haves

  • Experience:
    • 1–3 years preferred, 2–4 years ideal in lab QC or industrial manufacturing
    • Prior laboratory experience strongly preferred
    • Exposure to industrial, manufacturing, aggregates, steel, mining, lime, or building materials environments highly desirable
  • Skills & Qualifications:
    • Ability to work rotating DuPont-style 12-hour shifts (day and night rotations)
    • Strong safety awareness and compliance with plant safety procedures
    • Physical ability to access sampling points and work in physically demanding, dusty/heavy industrial environments
    • Hands-on, operationally minded; able to collect samples, analyze data, and make independent quality decisions in real-time
    • Strong communication skills and understanding of reporting structures
    • High school diploma or GED required; associate degree in chemistry, biology, engineering, or related technical field preferred but not essential
  • Work Environment:
    • Comfortable working outside traditional lab environments, directly on plant sites
    • Able to work independently and in a team across rotating shifts

Sourcing Nice to Haves

  • Industry Experience:
    • Experience in aggregates and lime manufacturing, building materials, steel manufacturing, mining, or mineral processing
    • Previous roles at companies such as Vulcan, Argos, CMC, O’Neal Steel, US Steel, OTK
  • Education:
    • Technical or chemistry-related degree beneficial
  • Personality & Fit:
    • Practical problem-solving and decision-making skills
    • Cultural fit with hands-on, operational plant environment

Location Requirements

  • Onsite role at O’Neal Plant, Calera, Shelby County, Alabama, USA
  • No travel required

Other Preferences

  • Candidates must be fully briefed and committed to rotating 12-hour DuPont-style shifts
  • Willingness to undergo SHL assessment during interview process
  • Preference for candidates who can be trained on technical processes if strong practical aptitude and cultural fit demonstrated
  • Permanent salaried non-exempt position
