Must-haves

  • 5–12+ years’ experience within the steel industry or closely related commodity markets
    • Job description indicates approximately 8–12+ years
  • Deep knowledge of:
    • Steel supply and demand
    • Production and capacity
    • Raw materials
    • Pricing and trade flows
    • End-use markets
  • Strong understanding of global steel markets and the wider steel value chain
  • Ability to translate complex market intelligence into commercial and strategic recommendations
  • Experience engaging senior stakeholders and customers
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Commercial awareness; ability to identify opportunities, risks and customer implications
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and influence without direct authority
  • Analytical, commercially minded approach

Relevant backgrounds

  • Steel producer, mill, trader, service centre or raw materials business
  • Industrial organisation with significant commodity exposure
  • Specialist steel market, intelligence, research or consultancy environment

Nice-to-haves

  • Established network across the steel value chain and major industry participants
  • Experience supporting senior customer discussions and strategic planning
  • Experience representing a business at industry conferences or market events
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline

Location and other preferences

  • Singapore-based, onsite role
  • Global steel market remit; regional or international travel may be required
  • Prioritise recognised steel or commodities subject-matter experts
